Rooted and Resilient (RnR) is a homeschool enrichment center for students in grades 6–12 located in Annapolis, Maryland. We provide small-group academic instruction in a structured, supportive environment to complement your child's home education.
We focus on foundational skills in reading, writing, and everyday math — taught through thematic, discussion-based learning that builds critical thinking, self-confidence, and accountability.
No. RnR is a supplemental enrichment center — not a full-time accredited school. Families remain fully responsible for their child's overall home education and any required Maryland homeschool registration or umbrella organization participation.
RnR is designed to work alongside your existing homeschool curriculum, not replace it.
We are located at 1908 Forest Drive, Suite 2K, Annapolis, Maryland 21401.
We serve families throughout the Annapolis area and Anne Arundel County. If you would like to schedule a visit to see our space before applying, please contact us at info@therootedresilience.com.
Yes. RnR is a secular enrichment center. Our instruction is not affiliated with any religious tradition or belief system. We welcome students from all backgrounds, faiths, and family structures.
RnR serves students currently in grades 6 through 12 — middle school through high school. This is the age group most underserved by supplemental academic programs, and where foundational skill gaps have the greatest long-term impact.
You can apply directly on our website at therootedresilience.com/apply.html. The application is a five-step online form covering your child's information, family contact details, academic background, enrollment preference, and acknowledgments.
A non-refundable $50 application fee is due at the time of submission and is paid securely through Stripe.
After your application and $50 fee are received our team will contact you within one business day to schedule a family visit to our center. This gives you and your child a chance to see the space, meet the instructor, and ask any questions before committing to enrollment.
After the visit, if you would like to proceed, you will pay the registration fee ($150) and materials fee to secure your child's spot.
RnR maintains small class sizes to ensure every student receives adequate attention. If a session is full when you apply we will place your child on a waitlist and contact you as soon as a spot becomes available. Submitting your application early is the best way to secure your preferred enrollment option.
Mid-term enrollment is considered on a case-by-case basis depending on available space and the student's readiness to join an existing cohort. Please contact us at info@therootedresilience.com to discuss your situation and we will do our best to accommodate your family.
RnR does not require umbrella organization membership for enrollment. However Maryland law does require homeschooling families to either operate under an umbrella or file directly with their local school board. We ask about your umbrella organization on the application for our records but it does not affect eligibility.

RnR offers instruction in six subject areas:
RnR uses a thematic, discussion-based approach. Rather than isolated drills, subjects are connected to each other and to real-world ideas so students see how history, language, math, and creativity all relate to the world they live in.
We emphasize Socratic dialogue — asking questions, thinking deeply, and learning to articulate ideas clearly — alongside foundational skill-building in reading, writing, and math.
RnR intentionally maintains small class sizes so every student receives meaningful attention and support. Small group instruction is central to our model — it allows the instructor to identify each student's specific gaps and adapt accordingly.
Regular progress updates are provided to all families as part of enrollment. Formal grades reporting for homeschool portfolio purposes is available as an optional add-on for families who need documentation. Please ask about this during your enrollment visit.
Yes. RnR's small-group, structured environment is well-suited for students who have learning differences such as dyslexia, ADHD, dyscalculia, or other diagnosed or suspected conditions. We ask about learning differences on the application so we can plan appropriately from day one.
RnR is not a specialized therapeutic program, but our approach — structured repetition, small groups, and individualized attention — benefits many students who struggle in larger traditional settings.
Classes meet Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The daily schedule is:
The 2026–2027 academic year consists of two terms:
You may enroll for the Fall Term only, Spring Term only, or the full year.
3-Day enrollment means your child attends Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week — the full schedule covering all six subject areas every week.
2-Day enrollment means your child attends two days of your choice each week. This is a flexible option for families with varied weekly commitments. The specific days are confirmed at enrollment.
Please notify us by email at info@therootedresilience.com or by phone before 8:30 am on the day of any absence. RnR does not offer scheduled make-up sessions for individual absences but instructors may provide missed materials at their discretion.
Students who miss more than six class days per term without documented medical necessity may be subject to enrollment review. Absences do not reduce tuition obligations.
The following fees are non-refundable under all circumstances: the $50 application fee, the $150 registration fee, and materials fees once materials have been distributed.
Tuition refunds for voluntary withdrawal are issued as follows:
Written notice of withdrawal must be submitted to info@therootedresilience.com to begin the refund process.
Students may be dropped off no earlier than 8:50 am and must be picked up no later than 1:15 pm. RnR is not responsible for student supervision outside of scheduled class hours.
A late pick-up fee of $10.00 per 15-minute increment may be assessed after a 10-minute grace period.
Students who are ill, have a fever of 100°F or higher, or are showing symptoms of a communicable illness must remain home until symptom-free for at least 24 hours without medication.
If a student becomes ill during the school day RnR will contact the parent or guardian immediately for prompt pick-up. Please ensure your emergency contact information is current at all times.
Personal electronic devices including cell phones and tablets must be silenced and stored during class instruction unless specifically authorized by the instructor for an educational purpose. RnR is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal devices.
To withdraw your child, submit written notice by email to info@therootedresilience.com. The date your written notice is received determines the applicable refund calculation. Verbal notice does not constitute official withdrawal. Any outstanding balances must be paid in full before withdrawal is considered complete.
